HP open standard infrastructure
Built upon our core strategy which is based on open standards, HP provides open standards underlay and overlay technologies such as OpenFlow and Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN).
OpenFlow
OpenFlow is a standard communication protocol defined by the Open Networking Foundation (ONF) The protocol provides access and communication between the control and infrastructure layers of Software-defined Network (SDN).
- Simplifies network management and programming of the network devices
- Allows for dynamic change in the traffic flow
- Enables the network to be more responsive to business needs
Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN )
Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN ) is an encapsulation protocol for running virtual networks across the network.
- Enables you to move to software-defined data center
- Allows for multi-tenancy at scale
- Provides investment protection since VXLAN runs on standard switching hardware
