Binding

  • Bind WLAN to Group: For wireless clients to be able to connect to a WLAN, the WLAN must be bound to one or more AP groups so that the APs in the group can broadcast the WLAN.

    • Group: Group name. The WLAN will be bound to all APs in this group.

    • APs in Group: Number of APs in the group.

    • Forward traffic to: Determines how wireless traffic is forwarded onto the wired network. Only configurable on Centralized and Distributed WLANs.

      • On Centralized WLANs: Select the network profile the controller will use to forward wireless client traffic. Only network profiles that have an IP address assigned appear in the list.

      • On Distributed WLANs: Select the network profile the AP will use to forward wireless client traffic. Only network profiles that have an IP address assigned appear in the list. If a network profile is assigned to a controller port, you can still select it, in which case the traffic is sent on the Ethernet port on the AP, tagged with the VLAN ID specified in the network profile.

    • Bind to Radios: Select the radios on which the WLAN will be broadcast.

  • Synchronize all access points automatically after saving WLAN changes: When this option is enabled, every time you save changes to the WLAN configuration, they are automatically synchronized on all APs.
