Manage CPGs for 3PAR FC

A common provisioning group (CPG) creates a virtual pool of logical disks that allows virtual volumes to share the CPG's resources and allocates space on demand.

Prerequisites

  • HP 3PAR FC storage device is registered

Managing a common provisioning group for 3PAR

  1. From the Operations Console main menu, select Block Storage Devices.

  2. Select the row of the 3PAR device where you want to associate a CPG.

  3. From the Actions menu , select Manage CPGs.

  4. Click Add CPG.

A list of available CPGs is displayed.

  5. Select one or more CPGs to associate with the device and click Register CPGs.

To exit without making changes and to close the screen, click Cancel before registering CPGs.

    [NOTE: ]

NOTE: While you can associate more than one CPG to a storage device, best practice is to limit the relationship to one CPG per storage device.

  6. To remove the association of a CPG from the device, select the row of the CPG and click Remove CPG.

    Click Confirm Removal.

To exit without making changes and to close the screen, click Cancel before you confirm removal.

  7. Verify that the data is correct on the Block Storage Devices overview screen.
