Run a set of Build Plans together

You can run a set of several Build Plans together in a specific sequence using the Run OS Build Plans screen. You can add the different Build Plans you want run together and then move them up or down in the list until they are in the sequence you want to run them in. Then you can select one or more servers to run the set of Build Plans on. You can either run the set of Build Plans immediately or schedule them to run at a future date and time. For details, see Run an OS Build Plan.

When a set of jobs is run together, a ‘control’ job is created in addition to the individual jobs in the set of jobs. The control job is the driving component that starts the next Build Plan as the previous one completes and controls the failure response.

On the Jobs screen, the control job is listed instead of the individual jobs in the set. When the control job begins, you see the status of each individual job as it executes and any failures are noted. When running a set of Build Plans, you can specify the failure response as: Run next Build Plan only on successful servers, Run next Build Plan on all servers (successful or failed), Do not run any more Build Plans.
