Configure the Appliance for email notification of alerts

After configuration, you can add, edit, or delete entries for recipients or filters.

Email notification filters can only be configured for alert messages.


Minimum required privileges: Infrastructure administrator.

  1. From the main menu, select Settings.
  2. Do one of the following:
    1. In the Notifications panel, click ..
    2. Click Notifications, and then select Actions > Edit.
  3. Supply the data requested in the Email panel of the Edit Notifications screen.

    The appliance automatically determines the SMTP server from the domain name in the appliance email address. If you need to specify the SMTP settings, click SMTP options to supply them.

  4. Optional: Send a test email message to test the configuration.
  5. Proceed to add one or more entries for alert filters and email recipients.
