Refresh the enclosure to re-synchronize it with HPE OneView

The Refresh action queries the hardware to obtain the latest information and re-discovers all of the devices (servers, interconnects, fans, and power supplies) in the enclosure. Refresh an enclosure when connectivity with HPE OneView was lost and then restored or if changes were made to the enclosure outside of HPE OneView. The refresh makes sure HPE OneView is in synch with any changes that may have been made to the enclosure when connectivity was lost.

The Refresh action typically takes place immediately and requires no other interaction unless connectivity to the enclosure is lost, in which case a notification displays in the UI.


You cannot refresh an enclosure if another operation is being performed on the enclosure. Wait until the operation is complete and then refresh.


Minimum required privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Server administrator

  1. From the main menu, select Enclosures.
  2. In the master pane, select the enclosure that you want to refresh.
  3. Select Actions > Refresh.
  4. Click OK.
  5. To verify that the activity is successful, check the activity for a green status in the Notifications area.

    If the activity is not successful, follow the instructions in the proposed resolution.
