Uplink ports

These fields are populated automatically. You cannot edit them.

Uplink port information is available for Cisco Fabric Extender (FEX) for HPE BladeSystem modules, but not other third-party interconnects. See the appropriate support or compatibility matrix on the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Information Library for the complete list of supported devices.

Screen component

Description

Port status icon

Indicates the status of the port.

Port

Port name on the faceplate of the interconnect (for example, X1 or X2, 1 or 2, or Q1.4)

NOTE:

The use of Qx.1-Qx.4 ports indicate that a splitter cable is in use.

Type

Port type: none, Ethernet, Stacking, FC, Network analyzer, or Fabric extender.

State

State of the port

Possible states are:

  • Linked The port is physically linked to the interconnect.

  • Unlinked The port is not physically linked to the interconnect.

  • Unknown The state of the port is not known.

  • Disabled The port has been disabled from the Edit interconnect screen.

Speed (Gb/s)

Port speed, in Gb/s.

Utilization

(For interconnects that support statistics)

Hover your pointer over the meter to display a graph of the bit transfer rate of the port over time.

Port utilization data is refreshed at the same frequency as the interval between samples, which you can set using the Utilization Sampling settings on the Logical Interconnects screen, or the Logical Interconnect Groups screen.

Uplink Set
Provides a link to the uplink sets, if supported, to which the port belongs, or indicates that the port is a Stacking link.
NOTE:

Cisco FEX modules do not support uplink sets.

Connected To

Shows the enclosure and port information for the device, or shows the port to which the uplink is connected. The port number is shown in parentheses.

Stacking link connections are identified by interconnect hyperlinks and port numbers if the interconnect has been added. If the interconnect has not been added, it is identified by the Virtual Connect connection information.

PortWWN

Shows the World Wide Name of the uplink port.
