Create a server profile

  1. From the main menu, select Server Profiles, and then do one of the following:
    • Click + Create profile in the master pane.

    • Select Actions > Create.

The Actions menu is not displayed until a server profile has been created.

    • From the Server Hardware screen, select the server hardware from the list of available servers (which displays the server properties), and click the Create profile link next to the server hardware name.

If the server hardware is not supported or is unmanaged, the Create profile link is not available.

  2. Select an existing server profile template to use.

Select None if you do not want to use a template.

  3. From the Server Hardware list, select the target server hardware.
The available profile settings are based on the server hardware type or the template you select. The conditions under which the available server profile settings can be changed for the target server depends on whether the server hardware is powered on or powered off.

If you have navigated from the Server Hardware screen, then the hardware is pre-populated.

  4. If required, you can customize other sections by providing the requested data.
  5. Click Create or Create + to create the profile and apply it to the selected server hardware.
After you click Create +, you can begin creating another profile.

If you are managing the server hardware BIOS through the profile, a progress indicator displays as the profile is being created.

If you are applying firmware to the server hardware, profile creation can take up to 1 hour.

After the profile is created and applied to the server hardware, it appears in the master pane of the Server Profiles screen.

  6. Repeat this procedure for every server profile you want to create. Each profile is applied to one server; therefore, you must create a profile for every server in your enclosures.
  7. Verify that the profile was created in the master pane.
