Add a volume from a storage system

You can add a volume that exists on a storage system under management of the appliance.

Prerequisites
  • Privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Storage administrator.

  • The storage system that contains the volume you want to add is being managed by the appliance.

  • The storage pool that contains the volume you want to add is being managed by the appliance.

  • The snapshot storage pool defined for the volume you want to add is being managed by the appliance.

Procedure
  1. Do one of the following:
    • From the main menu, select Storage Volumes, and select Actions > Add.

    • From the main menu, select Storage Systems, and select Actions > Add Volume.

    NOTE:

    The Actions menu becomes visible when you create at least one volume.

  2. Enter the data requested on the screen.
    • Designate whether the volume is to be private (used by a single server) or shared (used by multiple servers).

    • Set the volume properties that are not automatically derived on import into HPE OneView.

    • You can also restrict the use of the volume template by selecting a previously defined scope.

  3. Click Add to complete the action or click Add + to add another volume.
  4. Verify that the volume has been added in the master pane.

After you add a volume, you can attach it to a server profile.
