Invalid certificate error while adding a device's certificate to the appliance trust store


Attempts to add a certificate returns an invalid certificate error.


The certificate being imported may not be base64 encoded.

  1. Ensure that the certificate that is imported is base64 encoded.
  2. Ensure that the certificate is not tampered during a copy paste or a cut paste action.
  3. Validate that the certificate is not corrupt by displaying its contents.
    For Windows platform, save the certificate with a .crt extension, such as mycert.crt and double-click on the file.
    For Linux system with OpenSSL, openssl x509 -in <cert file> -text.
  4. Verify that the newly added certificate is available on the appliance.
