Add a fully authorized user with authentication by membership in an organizational directory

Use this procedure to add a user with complete access to all resources, where your appliance configuration is set to authenticate the user according to membership in an organizational directory.

  • Minimum required privileges: Infrastructure administrator

  • One or more authentication directories are configured in the appliance (see Add an authentication directory service)

  • The administrator has the following minimum information at hand:

    • User's unique identifier name (user_name)

    • Initial password

    • User's full name (must be uniquely distinguished if there are other users with the same name)

  1. From the main menu, select Users and Groups.
  2. Click Add Directory User or Group.
  3. Enter the data requested on the screen. See Add/Edit Directory Group screen details if you need assistance with your entries.
  4. Click Full to assign full access to this user.
  5. Click Add.

    Repeat this procedure as needed.

  6. When you finish, click Close.

    If you need to make a change, you can Edit a user account.
