Screen component

Description

Type

Specifies the type of network: Ethernet, Fibre Channel, or FCoE

For Fibre Channel, specifies the fabric type: Fabric attach or Direct attach

VLAN

(Ethernet or FCoE networks only)

The VLAN ID for the Tagged Ethernet or FCoE network. For tunnel or untagged Ethernet networks, Tunnel or Untagged displays. For more information, see Ethernet network or FCoE network.

Associated with subnet ID

(Ethernet networks only)

Displays the associated subnet and links to the IPv4 Subnets and Address Ranges panel of the Settings screen.

Purpose

(Ethernet networks only)

A description to attach to a network to help categorize the purpose of the network: General, Management, VM Migration, iSCSI, and Fault Tolerance.

The description does not affect the behavior of the network.

Associated with SAN

The managed fabric attaches SANs associated with this network. The SAN names link to the details of the SAN.

SAN manager

The name of the SAN manager associated with this network. The name links to the SAN Manager screen where you can view additional details and edit information.

Preferred bandwidth

The preferred bandwidth for the network, in Gb/s, when the network is configured on a port in a server profile.

Maximum bandwidth

The setting for the maximum bandwidth for a connection to this network, in Gb/s, when this network is configured on a port in a server profile.

Smart link

(Ethernet networks only)

Indicates whether Smart link is enabled for the network: Yes or No

Smart Link causes the operating system to detect a failure and direct traffic to an alternative path.

Private network

(Ethernet networks only)

Indicates whether Private network is enabled for the network: Yes or No

The Private Network feature provides additional network security by limiting traffic flow for the given network. Since the server ports in a private network cannot communicate with each other within the logical interconnect, all server packets are sent through the logical interconnect and out the uplink ports.

Uplink Set

Specifies the uplink set for the network and provides a link to the Logical Interconnects screen for additional details and editing of the uplink set.

Login redistribution

(Fibre Channel, Fabric Attach networks only)

The Login redistribution type: Auto or Manual

NOTE:

The HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module for HPE Synergy uplinks only support auto-login redistribution. For this module, Fibre Channel networks are allowed to be configured as Manual but are treated as Auto.

HPE Virtual Connect FC Modules support both Auto and Manual login redistribution.

Link stability interval

(Fibre Channel, Fabric Attach networks only)

The time interval, in seconds, before Login redistribution occurs (when it is set to Auto).

HPE Virtual Connect FC Modules have a default value of 30 seconds and a supported range of 5 to 1800 seconds.

Used by

Specifies the server profiles associated with the network, and provides a link to the Server Profiles screen where you can view additional details and edit the server profile.

Specifies the storage systems associated with the network.

Member of

(Ethernet networks only)

Specifies the name of the network set to which the network belongs (if it belongs to only one), or specifies the total number of network sets to which it belongs. It also provides a link to the Network Sets screen where you can view additional details and edit the network sets.
