Edit a logical interconnect group

Configuration changes made to a logical interconnect group are not automatically propagated to the member logical interconnects. However, by changing the logical interconnect group, you can update each logical interconnect with a single action.

You can edit the following information in a logical interconnect group:

  • Add another physical interconnect (or remove existing)

  • Change the type of interconnect

  • Edit uplink sets by selecting or deselecting uplink ports, adjusting port speeds, and selecting preferred ports.

    NOTE:

If you change the name of an uplink set and then select Actions > Update from group on the Logical Interconnects screen, connectivity is interrupted briefly.

  • Add networks to uplink sets and internal networks.

  • Edit interconnect settings.

  • Edit utilization sampling rates.

  • Manage the frequency of control messages through the LACP timer.

  • Edit Quality of Service (QoS) settings.

Any changes are applied to the logical interconnects when a logical enclosure is created or updated from its enclosure group.

Prerequisites

Privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Network administrator

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select NETWORKING > Logical Interconnect Groups and select the interconnect group to edit.
  2. Select Actions > Edit.
  3. Make your changes in the logical interconnect group to the interconnect configuration, internal networks, associated uplink sets, interconnect settings, or utilization sampling rates.
    NOTE:

Follow the Logical interconnect group requirements when adding or changing networks.

  4. Click OK.
  5. Verify your changes by selecting the appropriate views. For example, if you changed interconnect settings, select the Interconnect settings view for the logical interconnect group to view your changes.
  6. To have your changes take effect on logical interconnects that already exist, you can go to the logical interconnect and select Update from group, or go to the logical enclosure associated with the logical interconnect and select Update from group.
