Add an iPDU currently being managed by another management system

If an iPDU is being managed by another management system, you can forcibly add the iPDU to this management system (appliance).

This may be necessary in a case where you do not have access to the other management system to release the iPDU.

IMPORTANT:
  • Forcibly adding an iPDU removes all current configuration settings.

  • If the other management system is an HPE OneView appliance, you will not be able to regain control of the iPDU without first removing it from management.

Prerequisites

Privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Server administrator

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select FACILITIES > Power Delivery Devices, and do one of the following:
    • Click + Add power delivery device in the master pane.

    • Select Actions > Add.

    NOTE:

    The Actions menu is not present until you have added at least one power delivery device.

  2. Enter the data requested on the screen. See Add or edit a power delivery device if you need assistance with your entries.
  3. Click Add.
  4. A message that states the appliance is unable to add the power delivery device because it is claimed by another management system is displayed.
  5. Select Force add power delivery device.
  6. Click Add to complete the action or click Add + to complete the action and then add another power delivery device.
  7. Verify that the power delivery device has been added in the master pane.
