Claim a server currently being managed by another management system

If a rack server is being managed by another management system, you can forcibly add the rack server to this management system (appliance).

This might be necessary in a case where you do not have access to the other management system to release the rack server.

To forcibly add a server blade, you must forcibly add the enclosure.

  • Forcibly adding a server removes all current configuration settings.

  • If the other management system is an HPE OneView appliance, you will not be able to regain control of the server without first removing it from management.

To remove a rack server, see Remove a rack server from management.
