About NTP servers

The Network Time Protocol (NTP) server consists of the IP address or a fully qualified domain name of one to three NTP servers. HPE OneView, by default, acts as an NTP server. You can specify the appliance as one of the time servers. You can add or edit up to four NTP server configurations. The NTP server configuration contains the same configuration settings in both the active and standby appliance.

In a VM appliance, HPE OneView, by default, synchronizes time with the VM host that is associated with a VM guest. You can configure an NTP server either in VM host or HPE OneView appliance.

When you configure an external NTP server in an HPE OneView appliance, the NTP server stops synchronizing with the VM host.
