OS Deployment

OS deployment plan

You can define and configure OS deployments using Image Streamer and OS deployment plans within the server profile template.

In a server profile template, select an enclosure group with OS deployment configured, and then select an available OS deployment plan. Custom attributes that are defined in the OS deployment plan are displayed for you to provide values.

Deployment Settings

Custom attributes defined in the OS deployment plan can be set in the server profile template. These values serve as defaults in server profiles, and can be used or modified if needed when a server profile is created based on the server profile template.

Tokens are available to help provide values automatically that otherwise you would need to provide manually. Use the tokens profile, serial number, enclosure, and enclosure bay to create custom OS deployment attributes, such as hostname and domain name. Initially, the tokens have no value but when the server profile is created from the server profile template, the tokens are replaced with actual values. The use of tokens is optional.

Import settings from deployment plan

Imports the deployment settings from the selected deployment plan. All the current changes are discarded.
