Configure a port to monitor network traffic

Prerequisites
  • Privileges: Network administrator

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select NETWORKING > Logical Interconnects, and then select a logical interconnect.
  2. Perform one of the following:
    • Select Actions > Configure port monitoring.

    • Click Configure port monitoring in the Port Monitoring view.

  3. Select Enabled.
  4. Select the port:
    • Select Local:

      1. Select Network analyzer port.

Only the available ports are listed in the Network analyzer port drop-down list. Downlink Port Mirroring is only supported on the physical ports. Once a connection is established to any one of the physical ports on the Mezzanine adapter, then all the ports on that adapter change to Flex mode, and hence cannot be used as analyzer ports.

      2. Click Add port.

      3. To select a single-server port to monitor, click Add. To select multiple server ports, click Add +.

    • Select Remote:

      1. Select Sessions.

      2. Click Add sessions.

  5. Select the direction of network traffic to monitor for each port.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Switch to Port Monitoring view and locate the changes to verify if port monitoring has been enabled.
