Why factory reset a frame link module

You might factory reset the frame link module for the following reasons:

• The frame link module needs to be factory reset as part of a resolution message, and you want to continue to use that frame. For example, if an error occurs stating the frame is owned by another HPE OneView appliance, and you want to manage the frame with a different HPE OneView appliance.

  1. Reset the frame link module using the factory reset button.

  2. Reclaim the enclosure from HPE OneView by re-running Hardware Setup to bring the frame back under management.

• The frame link module needs to be reset in conjunction with a factory reset of the HPE Synergy Composer.

  In addition to resetting the frame link module, reset the Synergy Composer to factory defaults.
