Import hypervisor cluster profile

You can import existing hypervisor clusters that were created outside of HPE OneView and manage them through HPE OneView.

Prerequisites
  • Privileges: Infrastructure administrator, Server administrator, Server profile architect, or Server profile administrator.

  • A hypervisor manager is registered in HPE OneView.

  • A hypervisor cluster is created outside of HPE OneView.

  • Server profile template is created with the server hardware type set based on the servers nodes present in the cluster and has the required configurations.

  • The server hardware type of all the server nodes in the cluster are the same.

  • The hypervisor management network has the purpose set as Management and in the server profile template a connection exists to this network or to a network set having this network.

  • For a hypervisor cluster that is imported into HPE OneView, all the hypervisor hosts in a cluster have the same management vSwitch name.

  • Parameters are set in vCenter to the following values:
    • config.vpxd.heartbeat.notRespondingTimeout = 350

    • config.vpxd.network.rollbackTimeout = 90

For detailed instructions on how to modify these parameters in vCenter, see VMware vSphere troubleshooting documentation.
Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select HYPERVISORS > Hypervisor Cluster Profiles.
  2. In the master pane, select + Import hypervisor cluster profile.
  3. Enter the data requested on the screen.
  4. Click Import to complete the action or click Import + to import another cluster profile.

At this point, you might observe reported inconsistencies. You will need to resolve them.
