Delete a logical enclosure

To change the state of the Synergy frames in the logical enclosure to Monitored including all physical resources such as interconnects, delete a logical enclosure. The frames can then be reset and cabled to another instance of HPE OneView or physically removed.

When you delete the logical enclosure:

  • The previously allocated IP addresses are released to the IP pool.

  • The IP address of the interconnect or the management processor is cleared or set to DHCP depending upon the capabilities of the device.

  • The logical enclosure and logical interconnects are deleted.

When a logical enclosure with Synergy Image Streamer is deleted:

  • The Image Streamer appliances are no longer associated with the logical enclosure.

  • The Image Streamer OS volume storage is unconfigured.

  • The Image Streamer storage IP addresses are returned to the IP pool.

Prerequisites
  • Privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Server administrator

  • All logical JBOD configurations are removed from the server profiles that are associated to the logical enclosure.

  • All the independent logical JBODs that are associated to the logical enclosure are deleted. Independent logical JBODs are the logical JBODs that are not assigned to any server profile. The independent logical JBODs are associated with the logical enclosure through the SAS logical interconnects.

  1. Unassign or delete any assigned server profiles within the logical enclosure by performing one of the following tasks:
  2. From the main menu, select SERVERS > Logical Enclosures, and then select the logical enclosure to delete.

  6. Verify that the logical enclosure no longer appears in the master pane.
