Local port monitoring

In local port monitoring, the source port and the network analyzer port that analyses the mirror traffic reside on the same interconnect module. Only the available ports are listed in the Network analyzer port drop-down list. To configure a network analyzer port, use either an unused uplink port or a physical downlink port.

In an interconnect module, you can create only one local port monitoring session.

Downlink port mirroring is supported only on the physical ports. Once a connection is established to one of the physical ports on the Mezzanine adapter, all the ports on that adapter change to Flex mode, and therefore cannot be used as analyzer ports.

HPE Virtual Connect SE 16Gb Fibre Channel Module for HPE Synergy and HPE Virtual Connect SE 32Gb FC Module for HPE Synergy:
  • These modules support a maximum of 12 uplinks in use. If port monitoring is enabled, the network analyzer port counts as one of the active 12 uplink ports.
  • You cannot span interconnect modules during a port monitoring session. Both the monitored and network analyzer ports must be from the same interconnect module.
  • You can configure only one uplink and one downlink for port monitoring.
