About local storage and mezzanine storage controllers
External logical drives on a mezzanine storage controller are backed by a SAS logical JBOD. Once the logical drive gets instantiated (that is, not pending), you can view the details of the associated SAS logical JBOD on the Logical Interconnects screen.
Changing between

causes all logical drives or logical JBODs to be deleted from the controller.Changing from

does not cause existing logical JBODs to be deleted. However, if these JBODs have pre-existing RAID configuration, such RAID configuration will not be included in the profile and a warning alert appears indicating that the RAID configuration cannot be managed.Changing from
