HPE Primera storage systems

HPE Primera is an enterprise-class storage system consisting of multiple nodes or controllers forming an active/active clustered system. The storage system serves block storage data to servers. HPE Primera provides optimal performance, high resilience, and high availability.

HPE Primera uses several storage protocols and SAN transports to serve the data to servers and organizes the data in volumes within the storage pools. HPE Primera virtualizes the data on a backup physical storage using many capacity-reducing technologies such as:
  • Thin provisioning
  • Deduplication

  • Compression

  • Utilization of snapshot or clone copies

The storage pools, such as Common Provisioning Groups (CPGs), are created on the array span across all controller nodes. The volumes created on any pool are accessible through any port on any node.
