Update the logical enclosure configuration from the enclosure group

Update a logical enclosure to ensure that it matches the configuration of its parent enclosure group. Non-compliance results in an alert for the logical enclosure.

Update from group updates the logical enclosure configuration to match the enclosure group, clearing the current configuration of the logical enclosure. Then, the new logical enclosure configuration is applied to all the enclosures associated with the logical enclosure.

NOTE:
  • The Update from group action might interrupt network connectivity for servers with server profiles that are using the logical interconnects.

  • If you want to reapply the settings of the logical enclosure to the physical enclosure and interconnects (including the logical interconnects), perform the reapply configuration action.

Prerequisites
  • Privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Server administrator

  • The Update from group action is only available when the logical enclosure is in an inconsistent state, or if the logical enclosure is in a DeleteFailed state.

  • If the OS deployment settings are defined in the enclosure group, the HPE Synergy Image Streamer appliances within the logical enclosure are connected to compatible and supported frame link modules.

Procedure
  1. If using Image Streamer for OS deployment, review OS deployment setting changes and impacts.
  2. From the SERVERS > Logical Enclosures screen, select the logical enclosure you want to update.
  3. Select Actions > Update from group.
  4. If necessary, review the resources affected by this action.
  5. Click Yes, update to confirm.

HPE OneView checks for the presence of a logical group of disks.

  6. If a confirmation dialog displays indicating the presence of a logical group of disks, acknowledge the implications of continuing with the update.
    1. Read and understand the implications of continuing with the update; then select the checkbox.
    2. Click Yes, update to confirm.

The confirmation message displays if one or more logical group of disks will be deleted as a result of the update from group. The deletion of the disks might cause the server to lose access to the drives and possible data loss.

  7. To verify that the activity is successful, check the activity for a green status in the Notifications area.

If not, follow the proposed resolution listed under Details in the Notifications area.
