Add a dedicated network for untagged traffic

You can add a dedicated network to support untagged traffic to and from the servers and to and from the uplink ports on the interconnect module.

NOTE:

Only one untagged network can be allocated to a single logical interconnect or logical interconnect group.

Prerequisites
  • Privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Network administratorfor adding networks

  • Privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Server administrator for changing the server profile configurations

Procedure
  1. Add an untagged network.
    1. Select Ethernet for Type.
    2. Select Untagged for VLAN.
  2. Create a logical interconnect group.
  3. Either add the untagged network to internal networks or an uplink set:
    1. Add the network to internal networks for server to server communications within the logical interconnect. Continue with step 4.
    2. Add a dedicated uplink set to connect it to one or more interconnect uplink ports. Other networks cannot be associated with the uplink set. The untagged network cannot be associated with an existing uplink set.
      • Specify a name for the uplink set.

      • Select Untagged for Type.

      • Under Networks, select the untagged network you added in step 1.

      • Under Uplink Ports, add one or more uplink ports from the interconnect module.

      • Click Create.

  4. Create or edit a server profile with at least two Ethernet connections mapped to the network you added in step 1.
NOTE: Powering off the server is optional if the connections are already on the profile. Power off the server to add connections to the profile.
    1. Apply the profile.
    2. Power on the server.
