Downgrade firmware

You can downgrade appliance firmware to an older version, if the newer firmware is known to cause a problem in your environment.

CAUTION:
  • Downgrading to firmware that is not supported on the hardware can cause the hardware to cease operation.

  • Forcing a firmware downgrade might leave the server unstable.

  • For example, if the Firmware is downgraded to a previous version that does not use updated Rich Infrastructure Specification (RIS), the communication between interconnect module and HPE OneView will break.

Prerequisites
  • Privileges: Server administrator

  • At least one supported Service Pack for ProLiant

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select one of the following:
    • SERVERS > Logical Enclosure
    • NETWORKING > Logical Interconnects
    • SERVERS > Server Profiles
    • SERVERS > Server Profile Templates
  2. In the master pane, select the logical enclosure or logical interconnects for which you want to downgrade the firmware bundle and then select Actions > Update firmware.
  3. Optional: Select a server profile or server profile template in the master pane, and then select Actions > Edit, if you are changing a server profile or server profile template.

  6. Click OK.
  7. Verify that the contents of the firmware bundle are displayed in the appropriate resource details pane.
