To take advantage of the analysis and management features for your rack environment, the layout of your racks in the appliance should represent your actual rack configuration. Edit the layout of your racks to match the physical placement of the enclosures, server hardware, power delivery devices, and unmanaged devices they contain.

From the main menu, select
, and do one of the following:
In the master pane, select the rack you want to edit and select
.
Hover your pointing device in the details pane and click the
Edit.

Scroll to the
Layout section.

Change the layout of devices in the rack:
- Reposition devices in the rack by dragging them to a new location on the rack diagram.
- Remove devices from the rack by dragging them from the rack diagram to the device list, or by hovering your pointer over them and clicking
X.
- Add devices to the rack by dragging them from the device list to the rack diagram, or by selecting them in the device list and clicking the
Add button. Use the devices search box to filter the device list or to locate a specific device by name. Devices in other racks are not displayed.
- Once a device is positioned in a rack, you can click the edit icon to change its physical connections and specify the rack PDU power connections it uses. Clicking
Show only best-practice connections hides connections that would result in nonstandard power connections.

When you are finished changing the layout of devices in the rack, click
OK.

Verify the change in the
Layout view in the details pane.
