Add a custom ID pool range for MAC addresses, WWNs, or serial numbers

If you need an ID pool of MAC addresses, WWNs, or serial numbers within a specific range (for example, to take advantage of available subnets), you can create custom ranges where you specify the starting and stopping addresses.

Prerequisites

Minimum required privileges: Network administrator (virtual MAC addresses and virtual WWNs), Infrastructure administrator (all ID types)

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select Settings.
  2. Click Edit in the Addresses and Identifiers panel.
  3. Click the Add custom range button associated with the type of address or identifier you want to modify.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Enter the starting and ending address. (The count is calculated automatically.) Click in the Count box to display the number of addresses to be generated.

    • Enter the starting address and count. (The ending address is calculated automatically.) Click in the To (end address) box to display the ending address of the range to be generated.

  5. Click OK.
