What happens when a server associated with a profile is inserted into a bay

When a profile is assigned to a server in a bay and that server is removed, HPE OneView places a power hold on that bay to ensure that when a server is inserted back into that bay, it cannot power up without being validated. HPE OneView checks the universal unique identifier (UUID) of the server to see if it is the same server that was removed. HPE OneView checks the server hardware type to see if that matches the type specified in the profile. If the newly inserted server meets the requirements of the profile based on the profile affinity, HPE OneView releases the power hold and if necessary, reapplies the profile to the server. The server can then be booted and used. If the newly inserted server does not meet the requirements of the profile based on the profile affinity, HPE OneView sets the profile to an error state. User intervention is then required to rectify the problem.

One of the reasons for which a server can be removed is to replace a system board. If there is a profile associated with the server that is being repaired for system board replacement, then the new board must be configured with the same serial number and product ID of the system board that was replaced.
