Changing the management network for HPE Synergy frames

Use the following procedure to move the HPE Synergy frame from one management network to another.

NOTE:

Do not change the HPE OneView network settings when HPE Synergy Image Streamer is configured on your appliance. Changing the network settings results in the inability to manage the Image Streamer deployment server.

To change the HPE OneView network settings, you must delete and recreate the deployment server.

Prerequisites
The IP address pools and enclosure group IP address pools are configured and are in use.
Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select Settings > Addresses and Identifiers to add a new IPv4 subnet and address range for the management network.
  2. From the main menu, select SERVERS > Enclosure Groups and then select the enclosure group to edit.
  3. Select Actions > Edit to add the new IP address pool created in the step 1.
    NOTE:

Do not perform logical enclosure update from group at this time.

  4. From main menu, select Settings > Networking > Edit to change the IP addresses of the HPE Synergy Composer.

This action may result in loss of connectivity to the Composer if accessing using a browser. You can also access the Composer through the front panel of the HPE Synergy frame.

  5. If necessary, apply configuration changes to the uplink switch to enable the new management network.
  6. Wait for the Composer to apply the new IP addresses and access the Composer using the new IP address.
  7. From the main menu, select SERVERS > Logical Enclosures and then select the logical enclosure to update.
  8. Select Actions > Update from group to apply the new IP address pool for device and interconnect addressing.
NOTE: The Update from group action is available only when the logical enclosure is in an inconsistent state.
  9. Verify that all the devices and interconnects are assigned with the new IP address range in the IP address view of logical enclosure screen.
  10. Once logical enclosure update is complete, delete the old address pool from the Addresses and Identifiers panel.
    IMPORTANT:

If an IP address or hostname of the appliance is changed, any CA-signed appliance certificate associated with the appliance is erased, and a new self-signed appliance certificate is generated. In this case, you must generate a new Certificate Signing Request (CSR), ensure it is signed by a CA, and import it into the appliance.

    NOTE:
    • For ILOs that do not receive an updated IP address, perform Reapply configuration of logical enclosure on the HPE Synergy Composer.
    • It is not necessary to restart the HPE Synergy Composer when the IP addresses are changed. The HPE Synergy Composer restarts the required services itself once you make the changes.
