Synchronizing HPE OneView monitoring capabilities with Cisco APIC operations

HPE OneView enables automatic syncing of HPE OneView resources with an associated remote Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC).

HPE Synergy frames often connect to a higher-level network managed by Cisco tools. The Cisco APIC automates and manages the Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) fabric and provides centralized access to all fabric information to optimize the application life cycle.

You can determine the state of HPE OneView network parameters in relation to Cisco APIC on the same network. You can remediate differences through auto remediation or by making manual changes in HPE OneView configurations.

Inconsistencies in the APIC policies must be communicated to the APIC administrator for corrective actions on APIC policies. You can download the APIC policy inconsistencies report for a specific fabric manager using the Download APIC policy inconsistencies option in the Actions menu. The inconsistency report is generated for the selected fabric manager as a compressed CSV file. The CSV file is downloaded to the default download location on your computer.

Configuring Cisco ACI integration

You can integrate Cisco ACI with HPE OneView by adding a fabric manager, which represents an APIC cluster in HPE OneView. HPE OneView monitors a tenant list associated with the fabric manager and discovers logical interconnect resources for this list.

Monitoring service

A monitoring service manages the event handling mechanism for a fabric manager to consume events generated by Cisco APIC and HPE OneView.
