8SFF front drive cage

1. Power down the server.
2. Remove all power:
   1. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
   2. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Extend the server from the rack.
4. Remove the access panel.
5. Remove the fan cage.
6. Depending on the server options installed, do one of the following:
   • Remove the air baffle.
   • Remove the mezzanine tray.
7. Remove all hard drives.
8. Remove all hard drive blanks.
9. Disconnect all front drive cage cables.
10. Remove the front drive cage option:
    • Bay 1

      

    • Bay 2

      

To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
