Enabling SATA Secure Erase

To enable SATA Secure Erase:

Prerequisites

  • The SATA controller on the hard drive is in AHCI mode.

  • The hard drive supports the Secure Erase command.

Procedure
  1. From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration > BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) > System Options > SATA Controller Options > SATA Secure Erase and press Enter.
  2. Select a setting and press Enter.
    1. Enabled — The Security Freeze Lock command is not sent to supported SATA hard drives, enabling Secure Erase to function.
    2. Disabled — Disables Secure Erase.
  3. Press F10.
