Virtual Connect Manager SysLog events

The events generated in the Syslog cover the following areas that are managed by the Virtual Connect Manager:

  • Domain (1000–1999)
  • Enclosure (2000–2999)
  • Ethernet Interconnect modules (3000–3999)
  • FC Interconnect modules (4000–4999)
  • Servers (5000–5999)
  • Profiles (6000-6999)
  • Ethernet Network (7000–7999)
  • FC Fabric (8000–8999)
  • Unknown module (9000-9999)

The events are categorized by severity which reflects the functional state of the component. The severity will guide you on the kind of attention you should give to taking an action in the occurrence of the event. The following is a list of the categories:

  • SEVERITY_INFO

    An info event is a low-level condition for out-of-service equipment, system login/logout and other non-service affecting information. The standard event display color is black.

  • SEVERITY_WARNING

    A warning Alert denotes a threshold reached or error condition imminent. The standard Alert display color is blue.

  • SEVERITY_MINOR

    A minor Alert is an error condition but has no service impact. The standard Alert display color is yellow.

  • SEVERITY_MAJOR

    A critical Alert seriously impairs service and requires immediate action. This alert indicates a service outage or substantially diminished capacity. The standard Alert display color is red.

  • SEVERITY_CRITICAL

    A critical Alert seriously impairs service and requires immediate action. This alert indicates a service outage or substantially diminished capacity. The standard Alert display color is red.
