Symptom

312-HP Smart Storage Battery X Failure – Communication with the battery failed and its output may not be enabled. Action: Verify battery is properly installed. Refer to user guide. Contact HP support if condition persists.

Cause

• The HPE Smart Storage battery is not installed correctly.
• The HPE Smart Storage battery is degraded or has failed.

1. Verify that the battery is installed correctly.
