HPE Synergy Frame Link Module and HPE Synergy 4-Port Frame Link Module

The HPE Synergy Frame Link Module and the HPE Synergy 4-Port Frame Link Module are components that install in the rear of the frame. A HPE Synergy Frame Link Module and a HPE Synergy 4-Port Frame Link Module cannot be installed in the same frame.

The frame link module:

  • Controls and monitors the thermal and power infrastructure resources in an HPE Synergy 12000 Frame.

  • Monitors and reports health status of the frame, and each installed component, to the HPE Synergy Console and HPE OneView.

  • Validates compatibility and enables connectivity between mezzanine adapters installed in compute modules and interconnect modules installed in frame.

  • Performs auto-discovery of installed frame components including the collection and reporting of asset and inventory information to HPE OneView.

  • Links frames together to create a management ring (frame link topology) and autonomously manages redundant connectivity to and around the management ring (frame link topology).

  • Provides out-of-band management interface to HPE OneView for configuration and management of interconnect modules.

  • Hosts the HPE Synergy Console user interface which is used to assist in initial frame setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
