Symptom

The drive in drive bay X is reporting an unrecognized error reason.

Followed by either:

  • The drive is part of logical JBOD Y

  • The drive is part of logical JBOD Y and is being used by server profile Z.

Severity: Critical or Warning

Action
  1. Determine the error reason, and then do one of the following:
    • Replace the specified drive as directed.

    • Remove the logical JBOD.

  2. Check the drive status and volume integrity by using the Smart Storage Administrator.
    • If this drive is part of a non-fault-tolerant configuration, back up all data before replacing the drive, and then restore all data.
    • If this drive is part of a fault-tolerant configuration, do not replace this drive unless all other drives in the volume are online.
  3. If the issue persists, contact your authorized support representative, and provide them with a support dump file.
