Unable to communicate with the drive in drive bay X.

Followed by either:

  • The drive is part of logical JBOD Y.

  • The drive is part of logical JBOD Y and is being used by server profile Z.

Action
  1. Remove and then reinstall the drive in the specified drive bay.
  2. If the issue persists, do one of the following:
    • Replace the drive.
    • Remove the logical JBOD.

  3. Check the drive status and volume integrity by using the Smart Storage Administrator:
    • If this drive is part of a non-fault-tolerant configuration, back up all data before replacing the drive, and then restore all data.
    • If this drive is part of a fault-tolerant configuration, do not replace this drive unless all other drives in the volume are online.
