Run scripts

Scripts are run as a step in an OS Build Plan. An OS Build Plan running on a server is called a job.

To run a script, it must first be available to Insight Control server provisioning, where it appears in the master pane list of scripts on any Scripts screen.

Defining scripts

  • You can use a script that IC server provisioning provides without modification.

  • You can copy an existing script and edit it to create a new script as described in Copy scripts.

  • You can create a new script from scratch as described in Create scripts.

Running scripts

To run a script you must add it as a step in a Build Plan. Once you've added the script to a Build Plan, you can set script parameters on the Edit OS Build Plan screen. Edit an existing Build Plan to add your script as described in Create or Edit OS Build Plans. Once your script has been added to a Build Plan, you can run it as described in Run an OS Build Plan.
