Scripts screen details

The Scripts Overview screen, Scripts content screen, and Scripts revision history screen display information associated with the script selected in the master pane list of scripts as a read-only view.

NOTE: The scripts provided by Insight Control server provisioning are read only, so you cannot edit those scripts. Instead, save the script to a new name by selecting ActionsSave as from the Scripts screen and then edit the copy.


To edit the script, select ActionsEdit or select Edit (see Edit scripts).

To create a new script select ActionsCreate script (see Create scripts).

Information displayed for scripts

The Scripts Overview screen shows general information and script details. To view just the script description and contents, select Script from the View menu of any Scripts screen or select Script > in the Overview screen. To view an expanded revision history, select History from the View menu of any scripts screen.

In the heading at the top of the Scripts screens, there are filter selectors that enable you to control the amount and type of information displayed in the details pane. You can filter data on the Scripts screens by Source (HP-provided and User-provided) and Type.

Types of scripts supported by Insight Control server provisioning include the following:

  • UNIX—Bourne shell (sh), C shell (csh), and KornShell (ksh)

  • OGFS—Opsware Global File System

  • Windows .BAT—Windows batch file

  • Windows VBScript—Visual Basic scripting

  • Python—Python programming language

Revision

Version number of the script. Scripts supplied by Insight Control server provisioning have version 1. The script version increments automatically when a script is edited and saved.

NOTE: To view an expanded history of modifications to the script, select History from the View menu of any Scripts screen. The History screen lists each revision, numbered 1, 2, 3 and so on, and the date of each revision.


Last modified

Date and time the script was last changed.

Run as superuser

Indicates whether the script runs with superuser access when executed.

HP-provided

If Yes, this script was created by HP and is read-only.
