The Edit OS Deployment settings screen enables you to configure the following:
-
Upload a new version of WinPE to replace the currently installed version. (see Upload a new version of WinPE.
-
Edit the default service OS used in provisioning servers and specify your facility name (see Edit OS deployment settings.
-
Specify whether to use the default server discovery naming rule or customize your own rules (see Select server discovery naming rule).
-
Set the MatrixUser for use in integrating with Matrix CMS (see Specify the MatixUser account).
The WinPE upload allows you to upload a new version of WinPE to your appliance. Your appliance comes pre-installed with WinPE, but there are special cases where you may want to install a different version on top of the existing version. See the Advanced topics section of the Insight Control server provisioning Administrator Guide for information on WinPE and why you might want to upload a new version.
To upload a new version of WinPE, either drag the WinPE zip
file and drop it onto the marked space on the page, or click the Upload file button to open a browse window and select the file, you wish to upload. When you upload a WinPE file, it overwrites the WinPE PXE file currently installed on the appliance and also the associated WinPE ISO image.

For Matrix CMS to be able to access the IC server provisioning appliance, a special user account called “MatrixUser” has been provided in Insight Control server provisioning. Your CMS cannot access this appliance using any other user account, and a user cannot log into the IC server provisioning user interface with this account. The MatrixUser account is exclusively for CMS access.
Before the MatrixUser account can be used, a password must be set using the fields shown in the following table.

Once the password is set, you can configure your Matrix CMS to access this appliance by providing the deployment IP address, the special username “MatrixUser” and the password you defined. When a password is entered on this Edit OS Deployment Settings screen, it overwrites the previous password and your Matrix CMS must be updated.
