The Linux IPMI tool has the capability to securely communicate with the iLO firmware by using the IPMI 2.0 RMCP+ protocol. This is the ipmitool lanplus protocol feature.

For example: To retrieve the iLO Event Log, enter:

ipmitool -I lanplus -H <iLO ip address> -U <username> -P <password> sel list

Output example:
