Installing a second processor

If you are installing a second Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 processor in the processor socket 2, follow the procedure in this section.

Upgrading from an existing E5-2600 v3 processor to a E5-2600 v4 processor with a TDP of 105 W or less

This server only supports upgrading an existing E5-2600 v3 processor to an E5-2600 v4 processor with a TDP specification of 105 W or less. See the Customer Advisory (c04849981) for the latest information. Read this Customer Advisory in its entirety before selecting a processor upgrade option.

Installing a E5-2600 v4 processor with a TDP higher than 105 W

If the server is currently using a E5-2600 v3 processor and you require an E5-2600 v4 processor with a TDP higher than 105 W, you will need to purchase a new server configuration specific to the E5-2600 v4 processor series. See the Hewlett Packard Enterprise website or contact an authorized Hewlett Packard Enterprise reseller for available server configurations in your region.
