Block Storage Drivers screen details

Block Storage Drivers overview screen details

The Block Storage Driver overview screen displays data in the General, Storage System Access, Details, and Utilization sections. See About the graphical user interface for additional information.

General

These fields are also used on the Add Block Storage Driver and the Edit Block Storage Driver screens.

Screen component Description
Driver Instance Name

A unique name for the block storage driver.

Description

Descriptive information about the intended usage.

Driver type

The selected 3PAR driver type (Fibre Channel or iSCSI).

Storage System Access

Screen component Description
FQDN/IP

The fully qualified domain name or IP address of the block storage driver.

[NOTE: ]

NOTE: If the SSL certificate from the 3PAR storage system is unknown to the base appliance, a dialog displays the certificate details. If you trust the certificate, click Yes, trust certificate to import the certificate into the appliance. If you click No, do not trust and choose not to import the certificate, the Connect action fails with an SSL error, and the storage driver cannot be added or edited. Details

Screen component Description
Storage Domains

Used to select a storage domain (a group of storage devices that share a common communication address). The default common provisioning group becomes active after a domain is selected.

[NOTE: ]

NOTE: If the domains are not licensed, the storage domains drop-down selector is not displayed.

[IMPORTANT: ]

IMPORTANT: When adding an iSCSI driver you must have connectivity from the targeted compute node to the 3PAR storage system iSCSI port. If you do not configure the connection, block storage volumes will not attach to virtual machine instances.

If you edit a block storage driver, you must also edit the CPG of the associated volume type. See Edit Volume Types.

Default CPG

Used to select the default common provisioning group (storage pool). This field is active only after you select a valid storage domain.
