Composer compatibility and support

When considering component placement in HPE Synergy, observe all compatibility and support requirements.

HPE Synergy Composer2 compatibility

To verify compatibility for HPE Synergy management rings using Composer2, use the following compatibility matrix. The Composer2 is compatible with both the 2-port frame link module and 4-port frame link module.

HPE Synergy Composer (1st gen) compatibility

To verify compatibility for HPE Synergy management rings using Composer (1st gen), use the following compatibility matrix. HPE Synergy frames that include the Composer (1st gen) require 2-port FLMs.

For configurations using Composer (1st gen), the 4-port FLM is supported only in frames that do not contain a Composer (1st gen). To connect frames with 4-port FLMs to frames with 2-port FLM, a 10GBase-T SFP+ transceiver is required to connect to the SFP+ ports on the 4-port FLM.
