1747-Slot # Drive Array – Unsupported Array Configuration Detected

Symptom

1747-Slot # Drive Array – Unsupported Array Configuration Detected (followed by one of the following:)

  • More logical drive(s) configured than what this controller model can support when the memory module is detached
  • One or more logical drive(s) are configured in positions that this controller does not support when the memory module is detached.
  • One or more logical drive(s) are configured for RAID fault tolerance level(s) that are not supported when the memory module is detached.
  • Configuration information indicates one or more hard drive(s) are located in drive bays that are inaccessible when the memory module is detached.
  • Capacity Expansion operation(s) are pending but cannot continue because the Cache Module has been detached.
  • ALL logical drive(s) have been disabled. To avoid data loss, upgrade controller or move the drives back to the original controller. Run Array Configuration Utility to discard the current array and create new configuration
  • Access to the following disk drive(s) has been disabled:

Select “F1” to continue disabling these drives until a new array configuration is created on them. To avoid data loss, move these drives back to the original controller.

Select “F2” to reset configuration in these disk drives now.

Cause
  • The cache module was removed or is defective.
  • The drives were moved to a controller that does not have a cache module attached.
Action
  1. Attach a cache module to this controller, or move the drives back to the original controller. If Capacity Expansion operations are pending, be sure that the original cache module is attached.
  2. If all logical drives have been disabled, upgrade the controller or move the drives back to the original controller to avoid data loss.
  3. Run HPE SSA to discard the current array and create a new configuration.
For more information, see the HPE Smart Storage Administrator User Guide on the Hewlett Packard Enterprise website.
  4. If access to specific drives has been disabled, do one of the following:
    • Press the F1 key to continue disabling the drives until a new array configuration has been created. To avoid data loss, move the drives back to the original controller.
    • Press the F2 key to reset the configuration for the drives.
