Symptom

Unable to execute HP SUM.

Cause

  • SUM binary does not exist in the staging location.

  • SUM binary does not have the execute permissions.

  • SUM encountered a failure during the execution.

Action
  1. Verify that the SUM binaries are available in the staging directory with execute permissions.
  2. Clear the following directories:

    • %temp%\\HPSUM and %systemdrive%\\Windows\\Temp\\HPSUM (Windows)

    • /tmp/HPSUM or /tmp/log/sum (Linux)

  3. Retry the operation by applying the baseline settings again.
  4. If the issue persists, do the following:
    1. Log in to the server, and open a command prompt or shell.
    2. Change the directory to the staging location.
    3. Execute the gatherlogs command to collect the SUM and SUT logs.
  5. Contact a support specialist and provide them with the logs and a support dump file.
