Remove the PCI riser cage

WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the drives and the internal system components to cool before touching them.
CAUTION: To prevent damage to the server or expansion boards, power down the server, and disconnect all power cords before removing or installing the PCI riser cage.

Procedure

  1. Power down the server .
  2. Remove all power:
    1. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
    2. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
  3. Do one of the following:
    1. Extend the server from the rack
    2. Remove the server from the rack.
  4. Remove the access panel.
  5. Disconnect all cables connected to existing expansion boards.
  6. Remove the secondary PCI riser cage or PCI blank.

      Remove the secondary PCI riser cage

    • PCI blank



      Remove the PCI blank

  7. Remove any expansion boards installed in the primary riser cage.

  8. Remove the primary PCI riser cage.
