Breaking down the server to minimum hardware configuration

Procedure
  1. Determine the minimum configuration for each component.
  2. If installed, uninstall the following components. Removal guidelines are in the server maintenance and service guide which can be found in the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Information Library.

    • Additional DIMMs

      Leave only the minimum number of DIMMs required to boot the server. For more information, see the memory guidelines in the Gen10 memory user guide.

    • Hard drives and solid-state drives

    • Optical drives (DVD-ROM, CD, and so forth)

    • Expansion boards
